Install
Needs an env var: GITLAB_PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN — replace the <placeholders> with your values.
Optional GITLAB_API_URL for self-hosted GitLab. Archived upstream; the npm package still works.
claude mcp add gitlab --env GITLAB_PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN=<GITLAB_PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN> -- npx -y @modelcontextprotocol/server-gitlab/mcp confirms it's connected.
Or add it manually in ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
